Emmy nominee Jessica Biel (The Sinner) is confirmed to star in and executive produce The Good Daughter, a limited series set up at Peacock. The drama is based on Karin Slaughter’s bestseller, with Slaughter attached to write and executive produce.
“The Good Daughter is a suspenseful crime drama where sisters Charlotte (Biel) and Samantha Quinn have spent the last twenty-eight years trying to piece together the lives that were fractured by a single night of violence,” reads Peacock’s synopsis. “When another attack splinters the small town of Pikeville, Charlotte is the first witness on the scene. Now a lawyer like her father, she’s forced to confront her own demons as the case twists through one shocking revelation after another. In the end, both she and Samantha find themselves wondering if the price of being the good daughter was worth it after all.”
Made Up Stories’ Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, and Casey Haver are on board to executive produce the psychological suspense thriller. Iron Ocean’s Michelle Purple also executive produces.
Biel’s recent credits include Candy, Limetown, Shock and Awe, and The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea. Biel was nominated for an Emmy in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie category for her starring role in The Sinner.
